Alright Tzu, the below should get you a fairly accurate replica of Eir's bow, given you can find the right pieces of wood ... you dont need a full woodwork shop as the process is fairly straight forward, just a small iron saw, some sand paper, knive (or file if you dont like to cut), woodglue and a rope are needed ... you can make most of the other ornament pieces from the same material as you construct your armor from...

i would guess it will take anywhere from 4days to about a week to construct it, one day to find the wood and prep it, one day to further prep and glue (let dry). One day to add the string and ornament. One/two days to fully paint and prep the bow. Goodluck

One mention about the used sizes for the various components, i based them on your guestemate size, and the bow should come upto your chin/noose, which i think is a right size for a bow (not being a shortbow or a longbow), now this will not be entirely the right scale as opposed to Eir and her bow, but then she is 9feet tall :P ... if you want to make the bow shorter, i would suggest taking 5inch off of every component to reduce its size a bit

Right, dont feel like updating my Progress site atm. as i still need some doodles to fill up the page. I did though took a shot at making a ghostly Gadd... Just to see if i could and how to make a ghostly figure, used Gadd on my progress site as a template, seeing this wasnt a drawing experiment but a 'create a ghost' experiment ...

I know I'm a judge, but I think I do actually fancy writing a small halloween story, my question is thus:

How long should it be roughly?

Not sure, read and find out.

My entry: I have a TON of revising to do and add much needed descriptive words. Oh, and tie this into Halloween someway.

Heres my progress, i finally draw all what i want on the picture... of course in a really basic view . I want to hear suggestions about my concept and what u think of it. (Btw there's gonna be some "halloween toys" for GW the game near the graveyard seeing how the pumpkins are cut off .

@Tze Maybe another way to make a bow its with PVC Plastic, u can burn it anbd play with forms like clay to look curved, it can be dangerous but its just an other option .

Looks like a good base, needs a tiny bit more pumpkin smashes. For the end result add cloudy'ish' sky. The gravestones need some writing on it being dark or humorous. Other than that, can't wait to see the end result!

If you want a humorous take on it, have Mad King Thorn in the background with his jaw dropped and a piece of decimated pumpkin, plumped on his head like he just witnessed the massacre.

"The only good pumpkin, is a pumpkin cookie!"

Thanks for you suggestion i will consider the Mad King thing... Btw nice history, it seems to have a original and creepy topic, but u will need to get it into Halloween somehow.

Well, I still have a lot to work with. Since the story begins with Gwen just meeting the Ebon Falcons I'll built on her friendship with Keiran and the others before adding a Halloween theme.

I added Markis in it (White Mantle spy ) to help his reason for ending up betraying the shining blade and helping the White Mantle, but it's brief and almost seems unneeded. Although I plan for him to briefly return to check up on the Ebon Falcons and tries to recruit Gwen to be a 'chosen.' Does this side story work or does it need a change/removal?

Gwen does get over her bitchiness attitude, but in replace a more aggressive and less tolerance to mistakes one.

Sorry Tzu, I needed a Ranger that's in the Ebon Falcons in my story but leaves mid-way. So yeah, your Keiran Thackeray's teacher and temporary Ebon Falcons leader in my story. I didn't want to randomly pick a name, pick a personality and pick a motive when yours fit the one I want very well. By the way, is Tzunedaine Fouil boyfriend a Norn?

For a Halloween theme, I was thinking of Mad King Thorn in Gwens mind. He torments her on how she is like a mad queen. Ah, you know the drill, see hears him, see's him, but no one else can. Mad King Thorn helps Gwen to the monster she will be. Even though she over comes him, Gwen can't help referring to what he's saying about Gwen becoming just like him.

I'll end the story before the events of Gwen taking charge at the Eye of the North.

Lots of improvement there Usk! Definatly better then your original scetch. This is much more dynamic I agree there should be funny texts on the gravestones, but make sure they dont draw the attention from the dervish from the beginning. It should be "wow, cool dervish! Actually that whole picture is cool, those pumpkins are very flashy! But wait.. whats that? There is something written on the gravestones. Haha! Thats funny, that makes the picture even better!" That kinda feeling So dont make the writing too big, and it should contrast the stonecolour too much. So I wouldnt advice to use orange glowing kapitals on them
Perhabs you can use some famous GW people on the gravestones.. "Gwen: Finaly got what we all wanted", "Shiro: Are we sure he's dead now?" "Gadd: Killed by his own arrogance" Just some randoms thoughts lol.

I demand a bigger biceps muscle! Otherwise very nice looking concept and the pose and the armor lining look great

But I'm serious about the biceps, the guy (if it is a guy, don't mind me if he's a she ) can swing a heavy scythe with one arm like that, so he needs a more massive-looking muscle on his arm.

Keep it up Usk!

Looking good. You may want to make the head a tad bit bigger and position it a bit more to the right. (twist the neck to the right as well; so that the neck "points" to the same direction as the chest) Also, connect her left (our right) biceps to the back with a shoulder muscle, like this:

Image from Wikipedia, I'm too lazy to draw things like that.

Don't erase the biceps, however, since it looks good just there. Just erase 10% from the end of the line and draw the shoulder curve there. Make the forearm a bit more like her right (our left) arm, so it looks a little bit more realistic.

Also, I like the way her right (our left) arm looks like. Very nice anatomy there! Just add a bit more hint of the shoulder muscle there as well, so the joint joins the rest of the body.

Keep it up!

Doesn't really matter, as long as it's fun to read.

Thanks for the tips I'll see what I can do about the shoulder. But with the head, when I was using pictures I had taken on Guildwars, it shows her head pointing torwards the enemy, so thats how I drew it.

Thanks so much for the tips tho, I'll work on that before i start colouring it

EDIT: Oops, I see wut u mean now :O I'll tilt the neck a bit and modify the head

Tzu, as someone who cosplayed before, I usually used Paper Mache and then paint it with the finish that I want for the item. So maybe have something that can be shaped to a bow (even a wire frame can probably do this) and then cover it with paper mache to the shape that you desire then paint over it. You'll find it easier to put designs/details as well. So maybe you can do that with the bow too. I did something like that for shoulder and knee pads for a cosplay I did long ago...they were supposed to look metallic but what I did was just get some coconut shells, cover it with paper mache and paint it silver XD

Also for the fur, the bigger the better. So I'd choose the concept art one if you want more impact.

Usk - looking great! Although I think for the arm the lower bicep should be bigger than the top one

Lil Thing - Looking good so far just the head needs to be a little bigger.

Tommy - Wow!

No progress for me..uhm..I played Aion last Sunday..yeah I am bad QQ
